Sleep
February 16th, 2023
I met a man and his wife in my dreams. They were sleeping on the floor. A crappy futon. Walking to get some water, I tripped over his leg and fell to the floor.
A little dazed, I looked over my shoulder. He was already awake. His back hunched over in the dark. An insomniac.
A girl entered the room. She made fun of the insomniac and turned on the lights in a torturous act.
The insomniac opened his dark-circled eyes and started laughing maniacally. His blood-curling voice echoed in that dimly lit room. His wife still sound asleep. The image burned into my mind.
I woke up then. My computer in my room was humming along and blasting its RGB lights. Apparently, Windows will restart your computer for updates in the middle of the night and that'll turn the RGB lights back on. Needless to say, I'm shutting down my computer from now on.
4AM. I went back to sleep. I woke at 10AM. I slept about 13 hours today.
And, to my surprise, my mental health seems to be clearing up. It's as if my mental state were positively correlated with:
- the amount of sleep
- the time of sleep
- amount of water drunk
- amount of food eaten
I'm going to start sleeping at 9pm from now on.
