Infinity March 2nd, 2024
There are an infinite number of ways to organize our reality—our senses.
I see a bird land in a pond. I could describe it any number of ways: the bird glided to the water gently; or it darted down like a drop of rain. I could say it was hungry, or distracted, or lazy. I could say the sun was hot, or the bird was simply in homeostasis. I could paint it in watercolor or sketch it with charcoal. I could sing long ballads about it, or write none at all.
There are infinite ways to describe the moment—though the moment itself is singular and already gone.
As long as humanity walks the earth, we'll keep refracting reality through endless abstractions. We'll name heroes, blame villains, draw maps of meaning where there was only motion. We'll declare justice, fight what we think is wrong, and do it all over again.
And maybe, one day, we'll move beyond good and evil—not into indifference, but into something new. Something unnamed.
Of all that is the case, infinity.
