Chronic Inflammation

March 29th, 2024

Alright. It's armchair time. I feel the need to expound my pet theories that I've been keeping shelved for a while.

Athleticism, Charisma, and All the Good Stuff

I think it's easily generalizable that human beings appreciate healthy people. Most of us gravitate towards healthy, non-toxic, positive attitudes.

I think it's pretty generalizable that between jocks and nerds, (such a horrible classification, but it's one everyone's familiar with) that jocks tend to be more optimistic and nerds, well, you see this blog.

If we assume for a second that free will doesn't exist, why is it that athletes tend to be positive and nerds negative? Why do athletes have good posture and nerds have poor posture?

Exercise is an obvious one. But let's go deeper, why don't nerds feel the need or desire to exercise out in the sun?

Armchair time

I think chronic inflammation is the root cause of it. A poor usage of our bodies system. Meaning, that usually when we are sick we want to self-isolate. But if our bodies are always tricked to think we are sick, we will run haywire and self-isolate too much.

I think that our society's chronic consumption of sugar and inflammatory foods is disasterous, and it's having effects that are rippling down the line.

What I'm saying is this:

Overconsumption Sugar/Oil => Gut Dysbosis => Dysfunctional Gut Microbiome => Oversensitive/Overstimulated Immune System => Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammatory markers running in the bloodstream can cause all sorts of issues, like:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Eczema
  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Dementia/Alzheimers
  • Schizophrenia
  • Chronic stress
  • Chron's disease
  • Allergies
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Insomnia

Recessed Chins and Beauty

We are veering into incel territory, but stay with me here.

I think chronic inflammation causes recessed chins. If you think about it, high inflammatory markers implies chronic stress. Chronic stress causes an adrenaline response.

During this response, we start breathing through our mouths in order to activate our fight or flight system and drop our tongue from its proper posture.

Try mouthbreathing now if you don't believe me. It'll trigger your panic very quickly and you'll get a burst of energy.

Another Thought Experiment

Why didn't our ancestors have to stretch? Why didn't they have to think about mewing?

Change your diet. That's it. And exercise. It's that easy.
